KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:
The 2018 Belle of Mid Ulster, Emma O’Neill will talk about her leadership role in Kinship Care NI. She will explain how the organisation works for children who cannot be cared for by their own parents. She will explain how Kinship Ni helps these children to live safely and securely within their extended family and community.
Margaret Conway from Cookstown will chat about teaching in Dungannon, Oxford and Cyprus. She will tell how she became inspired to write a play, a dark comedy about politics, religion, sex and friendship. He play is based loosely on events that took place at the first Civil Rights March to Dungannon in August 1968.
Eileen Mullan, a committee member of The Belle of Mid Ulster is also from Cookstown. Eileen has had a colourful life appearing on television several times setting an integrated school in Cookstown, fostering 36 children and hosting German and Spanish students in her own home.
Kate Grant and mum Deirdre will speak about their journey – “Different is Beautiful”. Kate has Down’s syndrome but has always had a lifetime dream to become a model. Not only did Kate fulfil her dream which she had now become the brand ambassador for Benefit Cosmetics. Kate and her mum will talk about how this has changed both their lives.
