Event description
Bath Women's Fund virtual event for International Women's Day to celebrate inspiring women leaders, supporting our local communities

About this Event

Join us on Zoom to connect with members of Bath Women's Fund and friends, and to hear from inspiring local leaders, who have previously spoken at one of our potluck dinners, about the work of their organisations to support women, girls and local communities during the Covid-19 crisis:

Penny McKissock of Southside Family Project, supporting individuals and families facing complex challenges and trauma through abuse, neglect and poverty

Helen Fisher of Bath City Farm, which supports local communities and helps disadvantaged and disabled people to develop new skills and confidence

Ursula Lindenberg of VOICES, a user-led charity providing recovery support and counselling for women with experience of Domestic Abuse, and empowering people with lived experience to have a voice in research and policy on abuse, mental health and family law.

Niki Gould and Jo Fear of The Nelson Trust, which supports women in the community who are in contact with the criminal justice system, with Women's Centres in Gloucester, Bridgwater and Swindon that provide a women-only space where a wide range of support needs can be addressed in a safe and supportive environment.

Roanne Wootten of Julian House, which supports people experiencing homelessness, women and children escaping domestic abuse, adults with learning difficulties and people who need support after leaving prison

Helen Donovan of Bath City FC Foundation, which supports people in the local community to build participation in sports, improve fitness and footballing skills

Allison Todd of Mercy in Action, which runs the Petra Project for young mothers and their babies who would otherwise be facing homelessness and the Action Pantry for local families in need of food support

The International Women's Day 2021 campaign theme is #ChooseToChallenge: choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality, choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements.

Please do bring a cocktail/mocktail and we hope you will join us in committing to #ChooseToChallenge.
