Event description

Description

Come and celebrate the incredible Women in Londons history! Our walking tour, led by experienced and passionate guides will be running throughout the week and on International Womens Day!

The City of Westminster has attracted tourists and locals for decades, with familiar sights such as Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament in high demand. Yet amongst these larger, more widely known landmarks are memorials and statues to Queens, Nurses, Political Reformers & Women of the Second World War, often tucked away, walked past or ignored.

Our 2.5 hour tour attempts to rectify this by taking you on a walk past these statues and memorials, allowing you to follow in the footsteps of these women with a guide who will explain their history, their passion and dedication to their respective causes, and the significance their roles had on London and its history.

Starting at the memorial to Agatha Christie, near Leicester Square Tube Station, the tour will cover a range of themes such as women’s contribution to Literature, Politics, Nursing, Education, and Royal and Political changes as well as the many varied backgrounds they came from. The tour will also discuss the problems women faced but more importantly the support they received from their fellow women as well as men.

Book now to guarantee you space, we look forward to welcoming you soon!
