International Writers at Leeds: Fuminori Nakamura and Soji Shimada
Mon 29 February 2016, 18:30 – 20:00 GMT
Join us for this special evening in conversation with Fuminori Nakamura and Soji Shimada, two authors whose writing explores the dark underbelly of Tokyo. Nakamura’s novel The Gun is classic hardboiled detective fiction, where the chance to discovery of a gun leads to a life spinning out of control. Shimada’s The Tokyo Zodiac Murders revolves around the discovery of a dead body, in a room locked from the inside. This is a rare opportunity to meet two writers from Japan who will explore why the dark and the dangerous have such a hold on the Japanese imagination. The event will be followed by audience questions and a book signing.
