Event description
Can socialists oppose Brexit and the neoliberal EU with an internationalist perspective?

About this Event

Speakers:

Simon Hannah - author of A History of the Labour Left (Pluto)

and Dave Kellaway - contributor to Socialist Resistance

Internationalism is at the heart of resisting the shift to the right in politics, of which Brexit is part. In Britain the left is divided in its response to Brexit and the danger from the right. The forthcoming general election is likely to see xenophobia, racism and nationalism being whipped up by the Tory right, the Brexit Party, and elements of the media.

Speakers will introduce a discussion on the perspective of joining forces with other left movements across the EU in order to revolt against neoliberalism, and to end Fortress Europe rather than erecting Fortress UK.

TUESDAY 19 NOVEMBER, 7.30pm - KCBNA Community Centre, 62 Marchmont Street, WC1N 1AB (Kings Cross and Russell Square tubes)
