Internet of Things: A Storm in a Teacup lunch-time talk
Wed 19 October 2016, 12:45 – 14:00 BST
Join us for a fun and informal bring-your-own lunch event in The FuseBox..
Mark Rittman (Big Data Specialist) was catapulted to global fame last week when his tweets about his 11 hour struggle to make a cup of tea with an ‘Internet of Things’ Kettle went viral. Mark is joining us tomorrow to share his other experiments using Internet of Things devices. Mark will be talking about his work creating a ‘smart home’, how to live a healthier life .. and how his story is really about the value of data.
Mark is an expert in Internet of Things and the Big Data and insights that these devices produce. We are lucky enough to have Mark talk about his knowledge in this space for an informal talk for Wired Sussex members. This event will be both an introduction and exploration of data, how connected devices can teach us more about the world we live in and also what we can learn about ourselves. If you have an interest or are looking to find out more about data and connected devices this event is for you!
Mark will be presenting for 30mins on these topics and will take questions. We will be providing the space and the chairs, just remember to bring your own food for this social lunchtime talk. We will, of course, have the kettle on waiting for you!
Please note that this event is one of the related benefits to Wired Sussex memberships. Not a member? Find out about the advantages of joining Wired Sussex here.
