Overview
Interpersonal Counselling (IPC) has been directly adapted from Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) which is an evidence-based treatment developed by Klerman and Wiseman (Klerman et al., 1984). It has been adapted for cross-cultural use with different regions across the world and is a widely recognised as a globally therapeutic approach. It is designed to improve Interpersonal Relationships through improving an individual’s, communication pattern and problem-solving skills, whilst exploring their emotional expression. It empowers the individual to better understand themselves and others whilst navigating challenges in relationships with family, friends, partners, or colleagues.
What sets IPC apart is its adaptability—
It has been developed for professionals with little or no mental health training and can be used by anyone in a helping or caring profession who is looking to support others struggling with life’s challenges. The practical techniques you’ll learn are highly transferable and can be applied across various personal and professional settings.
