Calling all professionals who work with interpreters and victims of gender based violence /domestic violence and abuse
About this event
If you are a Health and Social Care Professionals or a member of law enforcement agencies for example a Police Officer who work/ have worked with interpreters when supporting victims of gender-based violence (GBV) / domestic violence and abuse (DVA), we would like to invite you to take part in a focus group discussion. The focus group discussion should last no longer than one hour. The discussion will be about:
• the role of interpreters in supporting professionals and victims of GBV/DVA
• the role of professionals in working with interpreters and victims of GBV/DVA
• the factors affecting the provision of effective services to victims of GBV/DVA when language barrier is an issue
Your views will help in developing strategies to improve the provision of services for the victims of GBV/DVA. The findings may also inform the effective use of interpreters, improved working conditions for interpreters. The findings will also help develop a toolkit that can support interpreters when working with victims of GBV/ DVA.
