Description

Explore a recent or intriguing dream with psychologist Mark Blagrove and discuss how it is related to your waking life. While you recount the dream, artist Julia Lockheart will paint her visual interpretation of it onto pages taken from Freud’s book The Interpretation of Dreams. Her artworks incorporate the layout, formatting and words from the pages, and you will be given an enlarged high definition Giclee print of the painting to display and discuss at home. Or you can sit in the audience to watch artworks being created and dreams explored. People who have had their dreams interpreted and drawn by this exciting science art collaboration have had ‘aha’ experiences when the links to waking life are discovered! Dream sharing (one hour) and also audience tickets (untimed) are available. There are also reserve dream sharing tickets if the dream sharing slots are all taken; for these tickets we would contact you if a slot becomes available, reserve dream sharing tickets can also be used to be in the audience. This event is part of the Economic and Social Research Council's 2018 Festival of Social Science. Artworks from previous events can be seen at DreamsID.com.
