Destination China – Your chance to win a full scholarship for your student to attend a Chinese language summer program in Summer 2013
INTO will be hosting a Global Partners session, Destination China – An American and Chinese University perspective -  at NAFSA on Friday 31st May at 9.00am in Room 127 of the convention center.  We would be delighted if you could join us.  Register your interest here.
In addition to sending hundreds of thousand of students overseas each year - China has also emerged as Asia's top study destination.  Indeed, there are major policy initatives to support inbound student mobility - with 500000 students expected to study in China by 2020 making it one of the world's largest study abroad destinations.  On the other side of the Pacific, President Obama  launched the 100,000 Strong initiative in 2009 to encourage that number of US students to experience study in China.
This session will explore how leading universities in China and in the United States are translating those policy imperatives into reality.  With contributions from major Chinese and American university members of the INTO partner network, the plenary will consider the programmes, student experience and brand aspects of creating an overseas study experience which is accessible to bright students from around the world who may not have studied in the Chinese language before. The session will also include a student perspective, with contributions from American and British students who have studied in China - what attracted them, how they found their experience and how studying in China has shaped their future ambitions.  It will include insights and tips for Study Abroad advisors on how to make China more accessible to your students.
If you are not able to attend the plenary session, then please do visit us at stand 213.  We will be happy to discuss further the many study opportunities available with INTO China.  We will also be holding a prize draw for a full scholarship for one lucky student to attend our Chinese language summer programme in  July or August 2013.  For a chance for your institution to win this great prize, please be sure to drop off your business card when visiting the stand or register here for a place on the seminar.  The winner will be announced on Friday afternoon.
