Join us for a cyanotype printing workshop at the Linnean Society. You'll learn about the history of the cyanotype process and its connection to early botany. You will also discover the history of nature printing and how it has been used to document plant specimens.
The workshop will guide you through the proces of making your own cyanotype, from coating paper and arranging botanical specimens from specimens in the Linnean Collections (exclusively for this workshop), to creating your print with UV light. At the end, you will be able to create your own Anna Atkins-style cyanotype specimen print. This hands-on session provides an opportunity to explore the intersection of science and art in botanical studies.
