Into The Music is an immersive, tactile music-making environment where purpose-built string instruments allow participants to improvise in a safe and supportive space. All instruments are tuned diatonically, so the music is always in tune, which helps promote relaxation and confidence.
Our vision is to provide a platform where everyone can take part, whatever their ability or musical experience, and explore the possibilities of group music-making in a fun and informal way.
The sessions are relaxed, with minimal guidance, focusing on creating soundscapes rather than songs. Participants are welcome to explore the space and instruments at their own pace, with no pressure or expectations. Parents and carers are encouraged to join in too.
With the generous support of Creative Scotland, we are now able to offer FREE workshops for children and young people with learning disabilities and additional support needs for the school year 2025/2026. Throughout the year, we’ll develop and introduce new instruments, shaped by what we learn in the sessions and what participants enjoy most.
