About Robin Lowry:

Robin Lowry is a professional wildlife photographer based in Essex, UK, whose evocative images capture the character and beauty of birds and animals in both wild and workshop settings. Originally trained in graphic design, and later working as a photographic art director in advertising—primarily within the automotive industry—Robin eventually turned his artistic eye towards wildlife imagery, blending technical skill with a deep passion for the natural world.

Birds remain a central focus of his portfolio—particularly owls, puffins, and birds of prey—though his work extends across a wide range of species. Whether photographing puffins bathed in soft coastal light, eagles in wintry landscapes, or intimate portraits of owls, Robin is known for emphasising atmosphere, behaviour, and the individuality of his subjects.

His work has been widely recognised. He won Digital Photographer of the Year (Wildlife Category) in 2014 and was a category winner in the British Wildlife Photography Awards, including the British Seasons award in 2023 for A Year in the Life of a Pair of Great Crested Grebes. In 2025, he received Highly Commended honours in the Urban Wildlife category, as well as for his striking imagery of Norfolk seals. His puffin photography was also selected for inclusion in the prestigious BWPA book, further reinforcing his reputation as a storyteller of Britain’s wild spaces.

Robin’s images regularly feature in national publications, exhibitions, and conservation projects, including RSPB and Wildlife Trust calendars.
