This evening seminar aims:
On this evening the focus will be on STEM as we introduce you to over six top professionals who have worked with in companies and STEM firms internationally. It is set to be both an informative and inspirational evening where you will be able to:

SPEAKERS AND MENTORS ON THE NIGHT!
Roma, a structural engineer who spent 6 years working on The Shard, is described as "the new voice of women talking about science and engineering and making it cool” by The Telegraph. A multiple award winner, she has appeared as an expert in documentaries, in UK broadsheets and magazines; on the BBC and ITV. Roma has given a TEDx talks about engineering, and was selected as a ‘Leading Lady’ in the 2014 M&S campaign.
Outside work, she actively promotes engineering, scientific and technical careers to young people and particularly to under-represented groups such as women. She is writing a book called ‘Building Storeys’ (2017, Bloomsbury) to showcase the amazing people and challenges which have been solved through history to create our modern world. Andrew F Alalade
Andrew F. Alalade is currently the Chief Registrar of the Victor Horsley Department of Neurosurgery at The National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London. He was one of only 9 successful candidates into the United Kingdom’s neurosurgical national training programme in 2010.
Andrew is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons England (FRCS SN), and the European Board of Neurological Surgery (FEBNS). He has been involved in drafting Core Competencies for the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges Curricula/Training programmes, and has served as a panel member for the Core Surgical Matching Interviews with the London Deanery. A member of several neurosurgical societies, he has authored a book and has a couple of book chapters.
Andrew is a keen mentor and educator, and has given related talks to several medical student societies and other organisations – nationally and internationally. He was a Council Member of the Association of Surgeons in Training and Executive Member of the British Neurosurgical Trainee Association (2011 - 2014). Currently, he serves as the P.R.O of the Medical Association of Nigerians Across Great Britain.
Rebecca Taylor studied English and creative writing at the University of Portsmouth before her professional career. Now, Rebecca is an enthusiastic Project Program Manager & Senior Analyst at Dell SecureWorks. Within this position, Rebecca coordinates and supports the Security & Risk consultancy team, through project scheduling and management, new starter onboarding/ communications, revenue recognition, utilisation and process improvement.
Jonathan Njoku previously studied human nutrition at Manchester Metropolitan University and is currently Assistant General Manager at the University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Previously Jonathan has worked at Barts Health NHS Trust, St Georges Healthcare NHS Trust and Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust before his current position.
Jonathan is passionate about the health of others. He said: "Notwithstanding; the patient must be at the heart of everything we do”. One of his other core strengths is superb customer facing and client management skills.
Elaine Adu-Poku studied law at the University of Bristol as well as obtaining the CIM (professional diploma in marketing) at London Metropolitan University. Previously Elaine has worked at Screen Nation, RB, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust and she is currently holding the position of Digital Marketing Professional at Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Elaine is a creative and strategic CIM qualified digital marketing professional with extensive experience in developing, managing and completing digital projects with specialities such as digital strategy, digital media and online marketing

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The Stephen Lawrence Centre is very close to St Johns train station (Mainline) and Deptford Bridge (DLR). Buses 47, 53, 453, 177, 188 and 225 also stop very close to the Centre. There is no parking on site but there is free parking in the surrounding area.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Please bring a pen and paper together with a wiliness to learn and take part.
