My daughter came home RAVING about how brilliant the workshop was! She thoroughly loved it, and didn’t stop talking about it all day. Thank you for ensuring ALL children feel involved and engaged in science and technology. Well done and thank you from a very grateful mum! - Melanie, Brighton

This workshop is run in association with Weald Technology and features Guest Educator Phil Edwards

Workshop Theme: Intro to 3D Printing & Computer-aided Design

Recommended Ages: 11-14. Students will work individually,

Description: Get hands-on with the latest design-and-make technology in this enjoyable 3D computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D printing workshop! Students need no prior experience, but still get straight into modelling a simple item on professional 3D CAD software, and then watch it come to life on a 3D printer, ready to take away by the end of the session. CAD and 3D printing skills are in great demand, and huge fun for anyone that enjoys design, engineering, modelling, making, customising, gaming, or crafts. Take away a part that you’ve designed and, with links to free design software, carry on at home at your own pace.

Other Details: This is a drop-off workshop. Please note, we may not have time to print all the students' items during the two hours, so it may be sent to you by post after the workshop.

Venue/Transport: BHASVIC is well connected to Brighton & Hove's public transport network. For car parking, there are limited spaces available at the college's car park on Old Shoreham Road. The car park is accessible from the A27 bypass from Dyke Road Avenue by turning right at the 'ESSO Garage' traffic lights; left at next set of traffic lights on the Old Shoreham Road A270 and then finally left into the BHASVIC car park just before the Dyke Road traffic lights. Disabled parking is available in the visitors' car park. Please note that parking is very limited, both on site and around BHASVIC. There are some parking spaces available on roads adjoining the College (pay at a roadside meter).
