Teaming up with the Concrete Society as part of the IQ Training Academy, we are providing a unique training day for quarry personnel that will provide an introduction to basic concrete technology, specification, placement and testing.
Designed for those with little or no direct experience of working in the concrete industry, the day is specifically geared to bring wider appreciation and understanding of basic concrete principles to those working in any aspect of quarrying.
The day begins with registration at 9.15am and will close at approximately 15.30pm. A literature pack of associated information will be supplied, including an electronic copy of all presentations.
Dr. Ian Heritage, Senior Advisory Engineer - joined the Concrete Society in 2011 as Concrete Advisory Service Engineer with a particular remit to produce educational materials. Previous employment involved in front line technical support to customers of Lafarge cement. Prior Academic work has included MSc and PhD based around cement and concrete materials.
Comprised of around 6,000 members in some 50 countries of the world, the Institute of Quarrying is the international professional body for quarrying, construction materials and the related extractive and processing industries.
Membership is open to individuals sharing our commitment to improving standards and lifelong learning. The long-term objective of the Institute is to promote progressive improvements in all aspects of operational performance through the medium of education and training.
