Intro to Doing Edinburgh Fringe (Workshop) | Biscuit Barrel Comedy
PLEASE NOTE: Spaces on this workshop are very limited.
Want to bring your work to the biggest multi-arts festival in the world? This is workshop is your starter pack, presented by a Fringe producer and artist with seven-years experience in Edinburgh, as well as Brighton Fringe, Hollywood Fringe, and ten other international festivals.
This workshop will provide an overview on budgeting, funding, marketing, press, and assembling a team for a Fringe show, mixing discussion with exercises. There will also be an opportunity for questions at the end.
Whilst focusing on Edinburgh Fringe, this workshop is also beneficial to anyone looking to do Brighton Fringe or any other fringe festivals.
This workshop is adapted from Biscuit Barrel's previous 'producing theatre' workshops, commissioned by organisations such as University of Chichester and Brighton Fringe.
Speaker:
James Horscroft is the founder and producer of Biscuit Barrel Comedy, and standing Artist Observer to the Board for Brighton Fringe. Accolades include nominations for the David Nobbs Comedy-Writing Award and Brighton Fringe's Spirit of the Fringe Award. He has produced over 200 full-hour performances on the festival circuit, and in 2024 collaborated with Pauline Quirke Academy to develop the 'Biscuit Barrel - Sketch-Comedy for Stage' module, now used by PQA schools across the country.
