Who is it for?
This introductory session is designed for teams or organisations who don’t routinely handle Self-Directed Support (SDS) enquiries but may be able to play a crucial role in ensuring people can access social care support at an early stage as possible. Whether you're in a frontline service, administrative support, or a policy-adjacent team, this training will help you feel more confident and informed.
What will it cover?
- What Self-Directed Support is and why it matters
- How can people access SDS and/or other forms of support
- What someone's SDS journey may look like
- Common types of enquiries and how to respond appropriately
- How and where to signpost people for further support or information
Why attend?
You don’t need to be an SDS expert to make a difference. This session will give you the tools to handle basic enquiries with clarity and confidence, and help ensure people get the right support at the right time.
