What is the LEAO?
The Leeds Early Attachment Observation (LEAO) is a universal tool which aims to promote and support secure attachment relationships between infants and caregivers during the 1001 critical days. The measure is used to assess the quality of the caregiver/infant interaction and identify need for any additional support to promote parental sensitivity and responsiveness.
This training hopes to...
- Increase your understanding of the importance of securely attached relationships between infant and caregiver.
- Enhance your existing assessment skills.
- Build your confidence in utilising the LEAO to observe and assess the early attachment relationship.
Why is this important?
Early identification of attachment difficulties will help support children to have the best start in life for optimal emotional and social development.
