To get the most out of this event it is suggested that you download the app iNaturalist and create a free account before attending.
The event will start with a short introduction to the resources we will be using, followed by engaging, hands-on wildlife recording within Summerlee’s grounds. With field guides in hand, we aim to show that many resources are readily available for anyone eager to connect with nature—demonstrating that citizen science is both adaptable and accessible for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
The user-friendly app iNaturalist will also be featured, as it makes collecting and sharing data simple and inviting for beginners. Every piece of information collected will be visible to the museum staff, encouraging them to use this invaluable data to inform the development of their greenspaces—helping us all to protect and cherish the incredible natural world around us.
This event is open to all ages - under 18s must be accompanied by a repsonsible adult at all times.
