Suitable for complete beginners.
Experienced tutors will show you how to work accurately and safely with chisels, planes, saws and marking and measuring tools and how to assemble your finished joints with glue and clamps over this 10 session course.
We’ll make the classic joints including halvings, mortice & tenons and dovetails.
Learn the fundamentals of wood – its structure, properties and how best to work with it.
We’ll talk about how to curate your very own tool collection and good places to buy from.
Sharpening techniques – how to keep your tools razor sharp.
Receive tailored advice on what other courses our college offers to help you on your woodworking journey.
Steel toe boots are required for this course.

Refund policy:
- 100% refund if the learner has provided 4 weeks notice.
- 50% refund if the learner has provided 2 weeks notice.
- No refund if less than 2 weeks notice.
- If a learner wants to postpone to a later course date then this can be done with no impact on fees paid as long as we have 1 week's notice of their intentions.
