Join us as we introduce Compost Newham and take some time to celebrate the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector in Newham​. This event will aim to showcase some highlights from the sector and focus on learning from our successes, as well as our challenges. We want to share our priorities for the coming year and, importantly, ​we want to hear from you!.

What does Newham do well? How can the sector communicate better and what do we need to make that happen? Share your thoughts and experiences to help shape a better connected and stronger Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector for Newham!

We will hear from both Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz and Stephen Timms MP as well as get to know one another. Choose from 5 networking rooms:

• Children and Young People
• Social Welfare
• Arts and Culture
• Mental Health
• Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Go anywhere you like to meet other organisations working in these spheres.

Next, you can go to two different 'rooms' from this list to take part in a variety of discussions/information sessions:

• Meet with the Council: Hear about some of the joint initiatives that have been developed recently and a chance to discuss how new ideas can become new opportunities.

• Hear more from Compost: Join this session for a whistle-stop tour of what we are planning to deliver to help build capacity of local VCF organisations and develop the sector’s infrastructure over the next 18 months.

• Network dreaming up session: Find out about networks in Newham and share your insights within the sector. What makes a network effective? What networks are missing? What challenges do networks face? Think creatively to help strengthen existing VCF and cross-sector networks in Newham and identify areas of growth.

• Story-telling session –overcoming challenges: Hear from organisations in Newham who tell us their stories of overcoming challenges in their work and what it was that helped them do this. A chance to hear from others and spark ideas about solutions to common issues faced by the sector.

• Other Resources - Find out about other support and resources available to your organisation. Meet representatives from providers that offer support to Newham groups with: University College London, Compass Wellbeing, Fitter Finance and OneNewham.
