Event description

Description

Bragg Centre members are warmly invited to an information event hosted by the Cultural Institute, where we will introduce the next edition of our innovative Leeds Creative Labs programme.

Leeds Creative Labs aims to spark collaborations that inspire and challenge artists and researchers to explore, innovate and take risks to find new ways of working together. Our current edition will bring together professionals from the creative industries with scientists and engineers to explore collaborations and create ideas. This new initiative is supported by a University of Leeds pump priming for interdisciplinary research award to Professor Lorna Dougan (School of Physics and Astronomy) and Dr Scott McLaughlin (School of Music) in collaboration with the Cultural Institute.

Between 14 November 2019 to 30 January 2020, ten teams of artists and creative professionals will be paired with Bragg Centre for Materials Research members to explore collaborations and create ideas together. With no expectation of an output, the process allows partners to establish the focus of their engagement with each other from the outset.

The event will feature alumni of the programme sharing their experiences of the event, as well as ample networking opportunities over a buffet lunch. All University of Leeds staff and postgraduate students welcome.
