Introducing mindfulness, a whole day workshop in Oxford
Mindfulness can help us to manage stress and anxiety in a positive way, to cope with the pace and demands of modern life and to feel happier and healthier. The practices are simple to learn and can become part of every day activities such as eating and breathing.
Update - this event is now sold out. We will be organising something similar again so get in touch via the 'Contact the organiser' button and we will let you know by email.
The workshop will be a gentle introduction to the practice of mindfulness in a relaxed and friendly environment during which you will have the opportunity to:
- Stop the 'doing' and rushing of daily life and give yourself permission to just 'be' mindfully, in a tranquil, friendly and supportive environment
- Explore the concept of Mindfulness from an experiential approach as well as some of its principles and benefits.
- Learn some simple skills to take away and use after the workshop
- Find out about future opportunities to further and deepen what you have experienced and practiced during the workshop.
As an added bonus, the day will include several experiential exercises from MB-EAT (Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training), exploring new ways of bringing balance and enjoyment to eating.
The workshop is designed for people who have little or no experience of mindfulness, but those who have more mindfulness experience are very welcome to book a place to refresh their practice.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. As part of the day we will have ‘bring and share’ lunch.
Information about parking and public transport near the venue is available on the Summertown website.
Mindfulness teacher Alicia Loreto-Gardner and Sophie Roberts, Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT) teacher, will be leading the workshop. We very much look forward to welcoming you and sharing with you a day of mindfulness practice.
