Introducing the Advocacy Development Fund
Date and time
Learn about a fund for community groups in Leeds to help offer advocacy.
About this event
We are holding an information event about a new fund for local community groups who want to develop advocacy services.
This funding will help you to learn about advocacy, this will add to your service delivery, volunteering or training, and you can share this with the people you support.
Advocacy is speaking up for yourself and others. It's understanding your rights, your choices and getting your voice heard.
We want to help community groups in Leeds to deliver advocacy.
We want to help you take advocacy to those who don’t know about advocacy and don’t access advocacy.
The funding is from The Advonet Group, the advocacy provider in Leeds. Grants of between£500 and £10,000 will be awarded (a total of of £25,000 is available this year).
Come along to find out more about our plans and help us work out how the money should be spent!
It will be chaired by Peter Gruen, chair of The Advonet Group's Board of Trustees. Cllr Fiona Venner, the Cabinet Member for Children and Adult Social Care & Health, will be speaking at the event.
A full agenda including details of speakers is available at this link: https://advonet.org.uk/2022/05/10/advocacy-development-fund-event-agenda/
There will be refreshments and a vegan lunch provided.
If you need any support to take part, please call us on 0113 244 0606 and ask for Bushra and we will see if we can do anything to help.
