Introducing The Brilliant Club
Wed 19 October 2016, 14:00 – 15:00 BST
The Brilliant Club offers a unique opportunity for current and completed PhD researchers! Tutors deliver programmes of university-style teaching based on their research to small groups of high-performing pupils in schools that serve disadvantaged communities based on their research to help them secure places at top universities.
Supported by a two-day training programme, tutors will earn £450 per placement as well as gain valuable teaching experience, enhance their knowledge of the UK education system and get a chance to disseminate their research to a non-expert audience. They will also join a cohort of like-minded researchers who are interested in widening access to highly-selective universities.
Hear from Joe Loudon, Regional Director of The Brilliant Club about what The Brilliant Club does and what being a Brilliant Club tutor involves, as well as BCU PhD students and Brilliant Club tutors about their experiences.
