Introduction to Ableton Live | Goldsmiths University - WAITING LIST
Mon 1 January 2018, 00:00 – 00:00 GMT
Increasingly used by creative musicians in a variety of settings, Ableton Live is a powerful, flexible and intuitive music production and performance environment. It can be used for writing, arranging and mixing like a traditional DAW but also contains unique features allowing for improvisation, live triggering, live looping, effect processing, modular synthesis and randomisation. The performance elements can easily become part of a writing and production process, greatly expanding the possibilities of making music on a computer without the need for fiddly programming. This course gives you a solid grounding in the basics of using Live for music creation, enabling you to explore some of the powerful in-depth features and learn how to tailor its operation to your own way of working.
You don't need to have used Ableton before, and you don't need to have your own copy before the course starts, but you should be familiar with basic computer skills and software navigation, and it would help to have access to your own copy to practise with.
