Learn about the different supports you can use for acrylic paint, surface treatments, types of brushes, mediums and use a variety of markmaking tools.

● A variety of structured exercises will help develop your understanding and appreciation of working in acrylic paint.

● Use a wide range of brushes and palette knives for different effects.

● Layer paint and scrape through.

● Apply paint with other household items and utensils.

● Prepare the surface.

● Consider different working methods, allowing for staining, drips and puddles.

● Add texture and pattern into paint.

● Discuss and explore the advantages and disadvantages of using acrylic paint on different supports.

You will create experimental acrylic paintings on paper to take home.

Claire will provide the paint, canvas, mediums and other elements you need for the various techniques demonstrated.

A ll materials and refreshments are included.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to bring with me?

Please bring a paint palette, other than that all materials are provided for you. You may like to bring an apron or wear old clothing as we are likely to get messy! You're welcome to bring some of your own brushes if you have them.

How do I get to your studio?

If driving you can park for free on nearby roads, Fir Tree Grove or Warnham Court Road. I am on the 154 bus route from Morden and West Croydon. If travelling by train, my studio is a 10 minute walk from Carshalton Beeches, London travelcard Zone 5.

Anything else I need to be aware of?

Please let me know if you have any dietary requirements or particular needs.
