Description

This event is aimed at dietitians who may be new to a role in the paediatric setting or who may be considering a role in paediatric dietetics in the future. The course aims to provide an insight into paediatric dietetics in an acute teaching hospital and an insight into some of the main dietetic issues encountered. The day will involve presentations covering various topics related to paediatric dietetics, case studies, group discussion and self-reflection. The topics for the morning include paediatric dietetic anthropometry and assessment, the role of the MDT including SLT, cow's milk protein allergy and weaning with allergies, faltering growth and management of reflux. The afternoon topics include enteral feeding in paediatrics, problematic feeding and feeding clinic experiences, recognising and managing eating disorders and an introduction to dietetics in neonates.
