Event description

Description

Amigurumi originates from Japan and is a form of crocheting small and very kawaii (cute) stuffed animals or objects.

In this workshop you will learn all the basics of crochet including chain stitch, double crochet, increasing and decreasing and the specific techniques used in amigurumi to work in the round and create a seamless and very cute cactus.

Amigurumi is one our faves and one of the most meditative of all yarn crafts, it is a great way to relax and unwind and create really fun and detailed characters for yourself or to give as gifts.

Amigurumi is such a fun and versatile skill and once you have grasped the basics there is a whole world of amigurumi patterns out there which use a very simple formula.

All materials are included and we'll send you off with a little amigurumi kit too with a selection of yarns and patterns and all the confidence you need to get you started on your next project. Its a great time to start crocheting Christmas presents too!

The workshop is being held in our lovely studio in Sunny Bank Mills and refreshments and cake are included.

We will have half an hour lunch break so youve got the option of bring a packed lunch or going to one of the local cafes including the wonderful Mill Kitchen.

Our studio is also located directly above Scrap Creative so plenty of time to have a browse afterwards and make a whole day of it.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners or those with a very basic knowledge of crochet who want to learn a new technique.

Hope to see you there :)
