Course Description

Animation is an excellent way to fuel children’s and young people's creativity and develop their ICT skills and digital literacy awareness, but it is often considered too difficult a concept to get to grips with. It’s not really!

In this session, we will discuss the fundamentals of animation—from understanding the concept of ‘Frames Per Second,’ to learning about different animation techniques––as well as covering some animation history. With this grounding in animation theory we will then create our own practical animation using Brush Ninja, a free, simple (but deep) browser-based animation program to put your animation skills into practice. Time permitting, we will also have a go at making some stop-motion animations.

This session is suitable for Primary and Post Primary teachers & classroom assistants.

Resources/Materials/Apps Required :

A computer/mobile device with the Zoom app installed
A separate computer/device to access Brush Ninja (optional)
A pen & paper to sketch ideas is recommended but not essential.

Other Information

This course will run from 10 am until approximately 11.30 am and will take place on Zoom. Eventbrite will send you the link to the event content in your order confirmation email, and in a reminder email before the event starts.

Please note, this course is only open to teachers, classroom assistants and school technicians working in Northern Ireland.
