Title: Introduction to APEX and Achieving HEA Fellowship at Portsmouth 

Presenter: The Academic Development Team

Venue: Please report to DCQE Staff Development Room, Second Floor (Mercantile House) for registration. Please advise beforehand of any access requests please. 

APEX is open to any member of staff who is involved in teaching and supporting student learning who would like to work towards professional recognition for their work. We particularly welcome new academic and learning support staff who are new to teaching and experienced staff who are new to Portsmouth. Ideally, your registration form should be completed and endorsed by your Head of Department prior to this event, but registration can be completed on the day or shortly afterwards. Forms and further information can be accessed at www.port.ac.uk/apex 

The requirements for recognition as an HEA-accredited Associate Fellow, Fellow or Senior Fellow through the University of Portsmouth's APEX programme will be explained at the Orientation.

Associate Fellow: For all staff who have responsibilities for supporting student learning in higher education but whose main role is in research, technology-enhanced learning or another activity which supports students learning.

 Fellow: For all academic staff with previous experience who are involved in teaching, assessing and supporting student learning.

Senior Fellow: for highly experienced academic staff with a considerable level of scholarly and professional expertise with leadership and mentoring roles in learning and teaching.

 Please note: Mercantile House and Floor 2 are swipe access only. Please ensure you arrive promptly for the start of the session as we are not able to guarantee you will be able to access the building after this time. If you are unable to access the building please call 023 9284 3327.

Parking is restricted at the UoP car parks, unless you have a valid UoP parking permit. Failure to display a UoP parking permit will result in a Parking Charge Notice (PCN), payable to Portsmouth City Council. Pay & Display parking is available on Hampshire Terrace (PO1 2QF), Cambridge Road (PO1 2EF), Gunwharf Quays car park (PO1 3TZ) or Alec Rose Lane car park (PO1 2SA).  If you need disabled access parking, please email acdev@port.ac.uk or contact the events administrator on 023 9284 3328.
