Description

A training workshop on archaeological report writing and interpreting site data. This one-day workshop will take a close look at what an archaeological report is, basic report structure, where to find background information, site formation processes and interpreting stratigraphy. The course will be run by Mathew Morris from University of Leicester Archaeological Services.

The course is FREE for members of the Leicestershire Fieldworkers.

10.00-10.30: Registration, tea & coffee

10.30-12.30: Session 1 - why we write archaeological reports, basic report structure, where to find background information

12.30-13.30: Lunch (not provided)

13.30-16.00: Session 2 - site formation processes, interpreting stratigraphy (excavation), seeing the bigger picture (fieldwalking & test-pitting)
