Event description

Description

The Introduction to Beekeeping Course (which is British Beekeepers Association approved) is aimed at people with little or no experience of beekeeping. It will give them the basic theoretical knowledge and some practical training to start keeping bees. Students who go on to get bees and join the association are normally allocated a mentor to guide them through their first years of beekeeping.

The course will start Saturday 7th March 10.00am-12.00am at Middlesbrough Bowling Club, Cornfield Road, TS5 5QL and run on Saturday mornings until May 9th (no session over the Easter weekend) with a final session on September 5th. The full timetable is here

We ask that attendees commit to attending the full course. The first sessions are theoretical, followed by practical sessions including sessions with bees.

Children must be accompanied by an adult and should be of secondary school age.

The total cost is £70.00 and participants do not have to be members of the association.
