Introduction to Beekeeping Sat 30th & Sun 31st August 2025

The course aims to develop an understanding of small-scale beekeeping. The course is half classroom based and half practical and hands on experience in the apiary. Students will be expected to continue to self-study and ideally join an association to attain support and understanding prior to buying bees.

The course will take place at Martineau Gardens, 27 Priory Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham B5 7UG. The course will begin at 9.45am and finish at approximately 4pm. Sam Walker and Valli Cawte will be your tutors. The practical element of the course (‘hands-on with bees’) will take place at Martineau Gardens. The mornings will be indoors with a classroom session next door at the Edgbaston Priory Club, which is approximately 5 minutes’ walk.
