About this event

Pregnancy loss and baby death have a significant impact on the workplace. Research suggests:

  • 50% of adults said that they or someone they know, had experienced at least one form of pregnancy or baby loss
  • 52% did not feel fully supported by colleagues and managers at work
  • 18% said that could access their employers HR Baby Loss policy

We understand that conversations surrounding bereavement, and specifically around pregnancy and baby loss can be difficult. We also know that navigating legal requirements around pregnancy loss and baby death can be particularly complicated.

Our training is therefore designed to help managers and colleagues understand pregnancy loss and baby death, find the words to support bereaved staff and navigate relevant employment law. We have various tools available including modular learning films which feature the experiences of bereaved parents going back to work, and the insight of HR professionals to support your business build an environment of support and low stress.

What you can expect from the event:

  • An introduction to Sands and how we can support your organisation and your staff
  • Meet and greet with our expert training team
  • An introduction to the learning with Sands’ training team exploring topics around the impact of grief on work, workplace obligations and entitlements, communication guidance and beginning to understand best practice
  • Live Q&A session – an opportunity to ask questions surrounding baby loss and the best way to support colleagues
  • Opportunity to discuss and sign up for a full training package

If you can't attend this session, there will be more opportunities throughout the year. Please keep an eye on this booking page.
