Introduction to bird photography
Event Information
About this event
We all carry a camera these days but not everyone knows how to get the best out of it. In this introductory session we will look at cameras, lenses (including bridge cameras, digi-scoping & trail-cameras) and other photographic accessories; camera settings, techniques, fieldcraft, ethics and the law for wildlife photography; what makes a good picture, how to get it and post-processing basics. This event will be mainly indoor but there will be an opportunity to take photographs outdoors in the afternoon (bring your camera). Leader: Harry Scott
This is part of the Aberdeen Birding Calendar 2022, a unique series of events for beginners and experienced birders alike.
ABC - The Aberdeen Birding Calendar is an exciting, different, programme of outdoor gatherings for those new to birding as well as lifelong enthusiasts. Enjoyable field meetings where you can explore particular topics in a bit more depth, meet like-minded people, share experience and hopefully have a good day out!
A skilled leader will briefly introduce each topic and co-ordinate a field outing. The trips will have a short session to set the scene for the day, and/or as a follow-up review.
Everyone is welcome - Whether you are just starting out or can share your experience on an enjoyable day. You don’t need to be a member of the SOC.
We request that everyone is fully Covid-19 vaccinated in line with the prevailing NHS guidelines and that you follow the guidance of the leader on the day.
Dates may be changed due to the weather. The length of the outing will vary depending on the weather, how many birds are around and the enthusiasm of the group to continue!
Please bring suitable clothing and footwear and take care on roads, steep or slippery surfaces.
