Introduction to Child Safeguarding for the Voluntary and Community Sector
Suitable for all staff working in the voluntary and community sector who wish to gain a better understanding of the child safeguarding system.
Training Description
Working Together 2023 is a key framework for safeguarding children and emphasises interagency collaboration and a child centred approach. The session will provide a general overview of the role of health, children’s social care and Police as statutory partners. Hear directly from experienced safeguarding professionals representing each organisation in Haringey.
Learning Objectives
- To understand the roles and responsibilities of the 3 statutory partners in protecting and safeguarding the welfare of children.
- To learn about the purpose of the MASH, how to make a referral to ‘the front door’ and how referrals are triaged.
- To find out how the Police through specialist teams collaborate and share information with other agencies to protect children at risk of harm.
- To hear from health colleagues about health’s contribution to safeguarding children with a specific focus on non-accidental injury.
This session will be held twice a year (last held in June). This session is taking place on Wednesday 12th November 2025 at 10am to 12noon.
The session will take place on MS Teams hosted by HSCP and delivered by:
