Event description

Description

***YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF STAFF AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BRIGHTON TO BOOK ON THIS WORKSHOP***

Would benefit: research and academic staff with some experience or understanding of research impact

There are two elements to this workshop – i) how to start to develop a narrative around impact, including how to articulate it; ii) communicating impact stories to engage with audiences, e.g. writing lay summaries, writing for other forms of publications, blogging, use of social media etc. There will be a focus on: writing for non-academic or specialist audiences; the benefits of making research accessible; a consideration of engaging wider publics. This workshop involves a discussion about the relationship between dissemination and impact, different routes for dissemination, the practical aspects of each and benefits/challenges of different approaches. We will look at case studies and good practice models on how dissemination has been a successful route to key impacts in the past.
