This course is suitable for Nurses, Nursing associates and HCA's
This half-day course will provide an introduction to contraception and sexual health in primary care.
This half-day of education is relevant for any primary care healthcare professional who is interested in learning more about women’s health and has limited experience.
The learning outcomes are to:
• Understand the contraceptive options available
• Appreciate the risks and benefits of each of the contraceptive options.
• Be able to support women in their choice of contraception
• Be able to undertake a pregnancy risk assessment
• Be able to undertake a repeat contraception appointment
• Gain an understanding of starting and switching contraceptive methods
• Appreciate the need for emergency contraception and the recommendations of each option
• Understand the common infections, sexually transmitted and non-sexually transmitted
• Know where to signpost for further information and where/when to refer
Please note feedback is mandatory and a certificate will not be issued until feedback is complete.
An outlook invite will be sent out 48 hours after boking and a joining link will be sent out closer to the time of the session so make sure the email address you have provided is accessed before the session.
