This training session is delivered in partnership by Richmond CVS and SWLEN


Thinking about Crowdfunding?

This workshop is designed to help you get started with crowdfunding as a way to fund your project or community activity. A practical session it will introduce you to crowdfunding, help you identify if it is right for your project or organisation and give you the tools you need to plan and run a crowdfunding campaign.

This course will help you

  • Understand the different types of crowdfunding
  • Understand how crowdfunding sits with other fundraising activities
  • Evaluate whether crowdfunding is right for your activity or organisation
  • Identify the right platform
  • Plan your crowdfunding campaign

It is suitable for trustees, staff members or volunteers from voluntary or community organisations responsible for raising money through fundraising. It is also suitable for Richmond residents interested in crowdfunding for projects that make a difference to their local community.


Please note places on this session are limited to 2 per organisation


This session is fully subsidised for local residents and voluntary and community sector organisations providing local services to Richmond residents.

There is a charge of £45 for voluntary and community sector organisations from outside of the borough.


Trainers

Julie Gavin, Advice & Training Service Coordinator at Richmond CVS. Julie is an experienced consultant and qualified trainer who has worked in the voluntary sector for over 10 years specialising in organisational development, project management and fundraising. She has worked with local, regional and national organisations and has volunteered widely.

Colin Cooper, has worked in the voluntary sector since 2004 and is the CEO of South West London Environment Network (SWLEN). He has an MA in Charity Management, is a trustee of a charity protecting parks across London and sits on the grants committee of a major funder.

Diana Cano, is the Communications Officer at SWLEN , overseeing the charity’s communciations as well as providing training and support on communications to groups in SWLEN’s network. Diana also oversees SWLEN’s own crowdfunding platform and is charged with getting the environmental projects on it funded. Before working in the UK, Diana worked in TV production in her native Colombia.
