A non-technical introduction to protecting your charity from cyber-attack.
About this event
Cyber-attacks are on the rise with charities increasingly being targeted by criminals. The average cost of a cyber breach to charities in the UK is £9.5k. Happily there are some simple things charities can do to reduce the risk of being a victim of a cyber-attack.
This introductory, non-technical session will explain:
• What a cyber-attack is and why a charity may be targeted,
• How to create strong passwords to protect your data,
• What a ‘phishing’ attack is and how to spot them,
• How to keep your devices secure,
• What to do if you have a cyber security breach.
This session is free to participants having been funded by Cyber Scotland and the Scottish Government.
