THIS COURSE HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO OCTOBER 2018. DATE TBC SOON.

This one-day course organised by the NUJ and London Freelance Branch for working journalists will cover topics including: understanding data and risk, assessing data quality, surveys, data sources such as government and open data, freedom of information, combining and manipulating data and graphing.


Please note that the course will not directly cover spreadsheet software, and no knowledge of spreadsheets is needed.

Attendees will need to bring their own laptop or a tablet device with a keyboard. Some exercises will require a larger screen than a smartphone's.

Tutor: SA Mathieson is a freelance analyst, journalist and editor, covering IT, government and healthcare.

The course fee includes tea and coffee breaks.
