About this event

Enhancing students’ and graduates’ employability continues to grow in emphasis in UK Higher Education, where each course is now held to account by sector regulations such as B3. Although some programmes more than others directly lead to certain vocations, every course no matter the discipline now must ensure a high portion of graduates’ progress on to graduate-level work following their degree. This session will outline the context of employability in the UK sector, including an outline of the Graduate Outcomes Survey and resources to identify graduate vs non-graduate jobs. The session will also outline some of the key areas of focus at Portsmouth, such as the Graduate Hallmarks and University Strategy. The session will equip staff to become employability-literate and to consider the professional graduate pathways ahead of their students.

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Communicate knowledge of the University of Portsmouth and UK Higher Education strategies relating to Graduate Outcomes.
  • Conduct independent searches to gain an understanding of current labour market trends and knowledge identifying levels of graduate vs non-graduate level professions.
  • Apply the University of Portsmouth Hallmarks to your activities and local areas of provision.
