Throughout September, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel will be holding ‘An Introduction to English Wine by Chapel Down’ masterclasses in partnership with England’s leading winemaker.
Running every Tuesday in MI + ME, classes will be led by Chapel Down, England’s leading wine producer and wine partner to the hotel. Based in Tenterden in Kent, Chapel Down produces a world-class range of sparkling and still wines, together with an award-winning range of Curious beer and cider. Chapel Down has recently become an official wine supplier to 10 Downing Street and is the first English winery to be featured in the London Stock Exchange’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain.
The masterclass will offer the chance to learn about the history of English wine, the intricate ‘Traditional Method’ of sparkling wine production and the virtues of Chapel Down. Guests will then learn how to professionally taste wine before enjoying a tutored tasting of three of their sparkling wines (Chapel Down Vintage Reserve Brut, Chapel Down Rose Brut and the multi Gold medal winning Chapel Down Three Graces) and 3 three still wines (Chapel Down Bacchus, Chapel Down Kit’s Coty Chardonnay and Chapel Down Union Red). The masterclass will conclude with a Q&A with the Chapel Down team and the chance to sample their popular Curious Brew lager, refermented with Champagne yeast.
