Course Description
This workshop will examine the conceptual and theoretical frameworks underlying epigenetic research in the developmental origins of health and disease. Participants will explore key concepts and landmark studies, reviewing both mechanistic and human epidemiological evidence for inter and transgenerational epigenetic programming. We will also discuss current methodological approaches, limitations, and emerging research priorities.
Learning Objectives:
- Define key epigenetic mechanisms and evaluate their significance in developmental origins of health and disease
- Critically evaluate epigenetic study methodologies, assessing design quality, inherent limitations, and innovative approaches
- Interpret DNA methylation and other epigenetic marks within DOHaD frameworks
- Integrate emerging technologies and analytical methods into epigenetic study design and hypothesis generation

Successful scholarship applicants will be contacted by Friday 24th October 2025. Once your course feedback has been fully completed and returned, a certificate of attendance will be issued.

There is a separate early bird registration available to International DOHaD Society members.
Please choose carefully as purchases will be cancelled if the registrant is not an International Society member.
Non-members are also offered an early bird reduced fee.
There are ten scholarships available for DOHaD Society members (Standard or Trainee/ECR) who are *living and working* in lower-, lower middle- and upper middle- income countries, as defined by the OECD and World Bank. If you are originally from an LMIC but are living and working in a high-income country, we apologise, you are not eligible for this scholarship.
The deadline to apply for a scholarship place is the 19th October. Please complete this form in order to be considered. All Trainee/ECR registrants will need to confirm their career status.
