Please note there are two parts to this training session, beginning at 13:00 prompt:
Introduction to the Equality Act 2010
The session aims to increase awareness of the Equality Act 2010 and its relevance to health care providers. The interactive session looks at each of the protected characteristics and the types of protection afforded under the Act and provides examples of good practice and case studies where the health service has been put at risk.
This session finishes at 14:30 for a short break with tea and coffee and resumes at 14:45.
Equality Impact Assessment Lead Reviewer Training
The session aims to equip participants with the knowledge to undertake an equality impact assessment using the new NHSGGC online assessment tool. Participants will be given instruction on logging an EQIA and will be taken through the online tool, looking in detail at each section and the evidence required. The session is mandatory for all nominated Lead Reviewers.
The training will end at 17:00 although may finish earlier depending on group size.
In order to use the online tool we will require a note of your Logon Name in advance of the training. This can be found in your details on the Global Address Book and should be forwarded to CITAdminTeam@ggc.scot.nhs.uk. Can you also please provide us with a note of your Payroll number for our records.
The venue is fully accessible, however if you require any adjustments please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. If you are unable to attend please let us know so we can re-allocate your space (see information on transferring tickets below).
We look forward to seeing you on the day.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There are 3 Disability parking spaces available at the venue. For further information about transport please contact CITAdminTeam@ggc.scot.nhs.uk or see "Getting to the Hospital".
Can I bring my lunch?
Yes! we appreciate Staff may be coming from various locations during their lunch hour for a 13:00 start and we are happy to accomodate you within reason if you'd like to eat during the session. There are also vending machines available at the venue.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
There are 4 dates available in 2016. If you are unable to attend on your chosen date simply cancel your booking and rebook on another date.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
This would be helpful but not essential. If you are able to show an e-ticket on your phone this would also be helpful.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
The training should only be booked for the member of staff who will be creating EQIAs in the future as a Lead Reviewer. If you are booking on behalf of someone else please ensure that they will be a nominated Lead Reviewer and enter their details including email address rather than your own.
If you wish to attend the first part of the training only please see the Events for Introduction to the Equality Act 2010 which are held at the same date and venue.
