Unlock the magic of Esalen Massage

Join us for an immersive and hands-on experience to learn the art of Esalen® Massage, a soothing and transformative technique that will help you deepen the connection to your body and the experience of deep relaxation.

By the end of this training

  • You will be able to give a full body massage
  • You will learn massage techniques that you can confidently practice with your partner and/or friends
  • You will be prepared to enrol in a course to certify as an Esalen® Massagepractitioner

This course teaches the basic techniques of Esalen® massage.

Classes include brief lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice sequences, body awareness and movement exercises and are designed for both individuals and couples interested in learning new approaches to massage and bodywork.

Both beginners and experienced bodywork practitioners who want to refresh their basic knowledge or learn about the specifics of Esalen® Massage are welcome.

The course is suitable for anyone who is interested in creative contact between body and soul. From professional bodyworkers to people in social professions who want to integrate this massage into their work. For open-minded people who want to explore whether Esalen massage is a possible career path for them, to people who want to relax or want to help others do so.

With the intention of expanding human potential, the Esalen® Institute began developing the Esalen® massage in the 1960s. The combination of Eastern and Western philosophy made the center for bodywork and therapy known worldwide. Fritz Perls, Ida Rolf, Moshe Feldenkrais, Stan Grof and other well-known therapists contributed their therapeutic concepts. The result was a method that is unique in its diversity.

Trainer: Nina Ottenheym | Embodied Coaching & Teaching

I’m passionate about helping people find more ease, flow, and connection in their bodies and lives. With over 15 years of experience in Gestalt coaching, integrative somatic work, and Esalen Massage, I guide others through transformation, healing, and deeper self-awareness.

Life has taken me through my own journey of resilience—navigating illness, loss, and major life shifts. These experiences fuel my work, making it not just about techniques but about real, embodied wisdom.

As an Esalen Massage teacher, I love sharing the art of mindful touch, presence, and somatic integration. I teach workshops across Europe and am currently developing a 100-hour certification training in Portugal (2026). Whether you're stepping into bodywork for the first time or refining your skills, I’m here to support you in discovering the power of deep, intuitive connection.
