Acquire some new performance skills or refresh your muscle memory with our three hour Fight Performance workshops with English National Opera Fight Arranger DAN BURMAN

Learn to convincingly slap, punch and strangle your opponent while feeding character and performance into 'Acting the Fight'.

This workshop is aimed at those looking to gain some experience and knowledge of fight performance to use in film, stage or just for fun. Ideal for total beginners or those wanting a refresh of the fight performance basics.

The workshop will include:

Introduction to Fight Performance
Basic techniques
Choreography and Performance
Pain Memory
Text into fight and back out again


DAN BURMAN is an Actor, Fight Performer and Arranger with over 10 years experience in TV, Theatre and Film. He is a graduate of East 15 Acting School on the world's first full time actor training program to include a specialisation in Stage Combat.

As a Fight Performer, he has appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Snow White and the Huntsman, Disney's Cinderella and Vikings. He is the current Fight Arranger for the English National Opera and most recent projects include Hurricane starring Iwan Rheon and Milo Gibson.

Dan has delivered Fight Performances workshops all over the world to students of all ages. Fusing his experience both as an Actor and Fight Arranger these workshops focus on acting through the fight and creating moments to resonate and connect with an audience.

CUCKOO BANG are a new writing focused theatre company based in London. Their ethos is to provide an accessible platform for the best emerging talent in the country and aside from regularly developing & staging new work, they regularly run affordable events & workshops for actors and theatre-makers, as well as providing ongoing support and advice to emerging artists. COST
We believe in keeping our costs as low as possible to give everyone the chance to attend. Our early bird places are just £15 if booked by the 1st January 2018. After that, all remaining places are just £20. There are no booking fees.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

The minimum age for our workshops is 18

What can I bring into the event?

We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing and suitable footwear. Please bring a bottle of water with you.

What's the refund policy?

Refunds are only offered in the event of a workshop cancellation. If you are unable to attend we will offer a workshop exchange for a future date where possible.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, save the trees! Your ticket displayed on your mobile device / tablet is fine.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

No problem, if you want to pass your ticket on to a friend or gift it as a present, just message us to let us know who will be attending to ensure they can gain entry.
