An introduction to giving Employment Advice.

About this event

This fully interactive online-course is designed for those new to giving Employment Advice. From December 2021 it has been extended to a Full Day Course.

Tutor: Gill Ormond

Audience: New advisers

Session Duration: 6 hours (with breaks)

By the end of the course learners will be able to:

  • Identify employment status
  • Know the sources of contractual rights
  • Recognise statutory rights associated with employment status
  • Recognise a dismissal, and assess whether it could be Unfair
  • Know the difference between Unfair and Wrongful dismissal
  • Understand the requirement for Grievance and Disciplinary Proceedings
  • Describe the process and timescales associated with Employment Tribunals
  • Be able to advise a client on their options, helping them to understand what is realistic
